Stories behind the art at the National Gallery of Art,  Washington, DC.      with Hugh Phibbs

In his tenure woking at the National Gallery, Hugh collected data that the museum wall labels may not reveal to even the most enquiring visitor.  Who inspired Beauty and the Beast?  How did Van dar Weyden paint microscopic cities in his distant lands behind St. George?  What is the view from Christina Olson’s bedroom window?  These and other insights will be revealed in this presentation.
