2026 JPVIS Tennis/Recreation Update: July 26 - August 2
The Triples, Tacos, and Tequila event on Wednesday evening was as entertaining as it was close. Down to the wire, we had 8 teams competing and the champions were decided by a narrow margin. Congratulations to Team “Lucha Libre” consisting of George Himes, Bill Barton, and Sheila Flory and Team “Taco Cats” consisting of Tom Lenhart, Ashley Barton, and Andrea Nevins. Our Juniors competed in our traditional match against Christmas Cove at our home courts on Thursday. We had an incredible afternoon of match play with these future tennis stars. Rumor has it that the home team won 45-40 total games, but everyone competed with great sportsmanship and effort, playing the “real” version of tennis that adults know so well. We have another BIG week coming up. Our adult doubles tournaments are the main events throughout the week. Please see the schedule below. Each tournament will take place on one evening, using a round robin format to decide our champions. Let us know if you are interested in these fun and competitive events! After our tournament week we keep the competitions going with a Pancake Breakfast/Tennis Exhibition on Saturday and the Chowder Cook Off on Sunday.
