JPVIS members have a unique opportunity to converse with, and ask questions of Ambassador Rick Barton. Rick, currently a professor at Princeton and JPVIS member, has  been involved in conflict management and refugee efforts around the world for the past thirty years. Drawing on his years as a diplomat, scholar, and senior US and UN official, Rick has analyzed why we have spent trillions of dollars, lost thousands of lives, and yet have rarely managed to enact positive and sustainable change.

You will be able to listen to and question someone who has met with Afghan Warlords, been in frontline situations, and been involved in refugee issues around the world. Rick has led conflict management efforts in Iraq, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Syria, Turkey, Bosnia, and Haiti.

You can email questions to Rick in advance at barton@princeton.edu, or submit them during his zoom presentation using the chat option.

His book Peace Works is a terrific read.
