Open play/Round Robins

  • See USTA recommendations for playing tennis safely.  Do what is acceptable for your group and be sensitive to other groups playing.  If a ball from another court comes onto your court, send it back without touching it with your hands.

  • Court reservations are required. Please notify Dave in person or call/text 860-655-3062.  If Dave is not available, a sign-up sheet is posted at the courts so please record who has played.

  • Please sweep the court after play. Then, wipe/spray sweeper and brush handles.

  • Wash and wipe hands often.  Hand sanitizer and spray will be available at JPVIS courts.  Having some in your tennis bag is recommended as well.

  • Please sign up with Dave or Susan in advance.  We will limit non-household clinics to 4 players per court.  Drop-ins are welcome if space allows.

  • Students need to bring their own water.  During water breaks, 6 feet social distancing is necessary.

  • Drills and games will be run in such a way that allows students to stay 6 feet apart

  • Sanitizing wipes and spray will be on the court for student use.

  • Lessons will start at the top or bottom of each hour and end 5 minutes early to help move students on and off the court while maintaining 6 feet of distance.  Equipment will also be wiped down between lessons.

  • Spectators should also maintain space with others.

Summer has come to an end for our tennis pros Dave and Susan. This will be your last opportunity to take a clinic at Juniper Point. If you have already put your racquet away, do stop by at the director's cottage to say 'See you next Spring!'.

The Juniper Point Village Improvement Society (JPVIS) operates 4 charming red clay tennis courts, nestled among trees and cottages a few hundred yards from the ocean. The courts flourish with activities throughout the summer season, bringing the  community together.

The JPVIS tennis program offers drop-in open play, round robins, private and group lessons, team matches and other social events at the courts.  The courts are typically open from Memorial Day to Columbus Day, and are often the heart of activities throughout the summer.  A Tennis Director and Assistant Director run tennis programs and social activities for all ages from mid-June through August and offer a full service tennis pro shop adjacent to the courts.  The Directors also run weekly ice cream socials and activity nights for the kids.
